Homemade sandwich buns/rolls

and I made these homemade rolls
instead of buying Hoagie Rolls

There is nothing quite as good
as homemade bread
Heaven in your oven!
It is always the best
and tastes much better than anything you can buy
It makes your dinner or meal
just a little better
but maybe it is because
I LOVE bread!
Mmmm…
I got this recipe from Our Best Bites
and they turned out delicious 🙂
Ingredients
  • 1 Tbsp yeast
  • 1 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 – 5 1/2 cups flour
  • 3 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 egg, separated
  • 2 Tbsp cold Water
Instructions:
Combine the yeast, water, and sugar in a bowl and let stand until bubbly, about 10 minutes. Add the salt, vegetable oil, and egg yolk and stir to combine. Add in the flour until you make a soft dough that barely sticks to your fingers. Knead the dough by hand, or by mixer (my preference) for a few minutes. Cover and let rise 1.5 hrs.
Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray an shape your dough to your desired shapes. The dough made about 8 loaves for me, but it depends on the shape and size you are going for. Let them rise another 1 1/4 hrs until doubled. Heat oven to 375 while waiting.
Mix egg white with some water and brush over the dough. Bake 10 minutes and then repeat brushing the dough with the egg wash. Bake another 8-10 minutes until bread is golden brown
Enjoy homemade buns with your dinner! 🙂
