Flower Cake

Flower Cake

Flower Cake

This is one of the favorite cakes we’ve made
It looks great and it’s EASY!

We made it for our daughter’s sixth birthday party
It is so easy
she decorated it herself!
I think it turned out pretty great.
Here is what we did:
I made a 13×9′ sheet cake
and
24 cupcakes.
Each take a box of cake mix
so you will need 2 cake mixes
and make  the cake and cupcakes
according to the directions on the box.
We then cut the top off 8 cupcakes
(you can do more or less, depending on how many flower’s you’d like on the cake)
and placed them on the 13×9′ sheet cake.
We then frosted the cake.
It may or may not be easier to frost the cupcake
and then place it on the frosted cake.
Totally up to you and what is easiest!
Use my delicious
Make the frosting whatever color you’d like.
We stuck with the basic white.
Then decorate each cupcake like a flower.
We just went to Winco
and bought a few different bulk candies
M&M’s, candy corn, gum drops, sour jellies, jelly beans, mints,
and one was just pretty sprinkles with an M&M in the middle
Whatever candy you want!
My daughter decorated
and put the candy on herself 🙂
Then just take either some writing gel,
or some Buttercream frosting with green food coloring
(in a ziploc bag with the end cut off)
and make stems, leaves, and grass.
If they made green licorice,
that would work great 😉
(as far as I know, green licorice is not made)
That’s it!
Pretty easy and a really cool cake
We loved the Flower Cake!
It is a great addition to any party
and your kids will have fun making it too!
