Shoes on the stairs

I head downstairs this morning

and find this:

Shoes on the stairs

Shoes on the stairs

My son left his shoes on the stairs….

What the?!?!

Why would one be 3/4 of the way up the stairs

and suddenly think

“Oh, I should take my shoes off…

and leave them on the stairs..

because why not leave them on the stairs.

It is not like that would be dangerous or something.

Seems like as good of a place as any to leave my shoes.”

ARG!

Really….

I have never considered taking my shoes off on while I am going upstairs

much left thought to leave them on the stairs

Is it only my kids that do things like this??

Sometimes I wonder….

They come in the door from school,

shed coats, shoes, backpacks, lunch boxes, etc.

and leave them there..

They stack papers from school in the kitchen –

I guess hoping I will see them,

instead of just giving them to me

And man!

They bring home ALOT of papers!!

The small ones,

kick off their shoes as soon as they are in the door

They don’ t put them away

just kick them and let them land where they will

Now I yell nicely tell them CONSTANTLY

to put these things away.

We have a closet.

We have coat racks and hooks.

We have shoe bins and cubbies.

Doesn’t seem to matter.

I know People say that you will miss the mess when it is gone

Someday’s

I am anxious to miss the mess

Seriously,

How hard it is to take a few extra steps and put it away?

Save time later..

and guess what?!?!

When you put things away where they belong

You can FIND them!!

I spend endless hours looking for something they’ve misplaced

when if they had put it away in the first place

they could have found it…

*sigh*

I think I am a little irritable about a messy house right now

and I don’t actually like yelling telling my kids over and over to do the same thing…

One day I won’t have the mess

One day I won’t have the mess

One day I won’t have the mess…..

I am thinking if I chant that over and over

I will “Cherish” the mess

It will work, right?

Even with the mess,

Motherhood is my greatest joy

and I would not trade it for a clean house.

EVER.

Which is good,

because I don’t think I’ll have a clean house for the next 18 years

Just and FYI,

If you ever come over…

Just someday’s

I wish I had a maid

Yes!

That is the solution!

A Maid…

Anyone want to come and be my maid?

I can pay in Brownies and Chocolate Chip Cookies!

I wish I was one of those people who LOVE cleaning and organizing

Sadly,

that is not the case 😛
