Enchanted Forest

If you are from Oregon,
more than likely
You have been to
or at least know about
Enchanted Forest
outside of Salem

I can remember going there
When I was little
Much of it is the same from then
including the Shoe Slide!
they just add on more
who doesn’t LOVE the shoe slide?
We take our kids once a year usually,
or once every other year
It is only 20 minutes from our house
This was our first trip
we let them all get the ride bracelets
so they could ride the rides as many times as they want
and we had a coupon from the
Valpack we got in the mail
You start at the Castle
and wind your way up the hill through storybook land
You go through the rabbit hole,
get lost in a maze,
go up the 7 Dwarfs mine,
slide out the witches hat,
run through the crooked house
(We LOVE the crooked house!)
and end up at the popular shoe slide!
You can then explore
Western Town
and get lost in the Indian Caves
Then head toward the Haunted House
for a little scary adventure
Then you can head up the hill
to the kiddie rides –
bumper boats,
frog hopper,
Ferris wheel,
train,
and bumper cars
You can grab a snack
and watch the play
in the outside theater next
Then head over
and you can do the log ride
They provide ponchos even!
Don’t forget to stop and
Pan for gold!
My 7 year old LOVED this
He got a giant chunk
of “gold”
and loves his treasure
and for the cost of a ticket
it is a bargain for a souvenir!
(they also got crystals and pretty rocks)
Then head over to Ice Mountain
the whole reason we came is
because we promised the 2 year old
if he potty trained,
(which he did)
he could go on a “roller coaster”
So he got to go on the Roller Coaster
as many times as he could stand!
Across from Ice Mountain
is Challenge of Mondor
a great ride
where you can shoot guns
and get points
Head into the European Village
for some fun anamatronics
and Pinocchio’s playhouse
Don’t miss the Water fountain light show
it is fun to watch!
My daughter was like
“it’s kind of like World of Color!”
Yeah, kind of!
My kids and husband rode each ride
AT LEAST 6 times yesterday
They had a fabulous time!
(well worth the money!)
While I was waiting for them on some rides
I sat and watched the story of the Enchanted Forest
in the Opera House
while the baby napped
It was really interesting
and it made me appreciated the park so much more
It was all built by hand
by this family
who still own and run the park.
Pretty awesome if you ask me!
They have custom Birthday Buttons
with your name and age on it!
if it is your birthday,
so we got one for our 2 year old
since we were there to celebrate his 3rd birthday
next week
Maybe it is just all the time that I have spent at Disney
but the prices for food and stuff were not outrageous
I didn’t see anything really above $3
and the souvenirs were a good price too 🙂
We took a picnic
for lunch
because they totally welcome you bringing a picnic along
and have plenty of clean picnic tables there for you to use
So we had an excellent day
We got there when it opened
and stayed until almost closing
the kids are already asking when we can go back!
I would highly recommend it for a day of family fun
at a very family friendly,
family run amusement park!

One of the best parts
is it really is in the Forest
so we didn’t notice that is was bright, sunny, and hot yesterday
we were in the shade of the forest and
enjoyed perfect temperatures in there
without the sun in our eyes 🙂
