This is a new creation
That we were all chomping at the bit to eat more of!
This is for sure going to be a new staple/favorite around here
for whenever ham is on sale (or leftover from the holiday!)
I tried some before I left for Zumba
(I make dinner in the crockpot, for my family to eat while I am working out, then I eat when I get home!)
and I just wanted to keep eating it
It was THAT good!
Mmmm…
I even put all the ingredients in frozen
(on par for me)
and in a few hours,
it came together beautifully!
I think I may prefer this to regular
Chicken Cordon Bleu
and that has been a favorite of mine
since I was little!
Crockpot chicken cordon bleu Ingredients
- 1 lb of chicken, cubed (or you could shred it later, but I liked it cubed)
- 8oz cube of Cream Cheese – 1/3 reduced fat for us
- 1/2 cup Sour Cream – reduced fat for us
- 1/4 lb Swiss Cheese, or 1/2 cup Alfredo Sauce
- 1/4 lb Ham or 5-6 slices of ham lunch meat
Directions –
Put all ingredients in Slow cooker. Cook on high 4 hrs, low 8 hrs. Done! I stirred it after a couple of hours, since I put it all in frozen 🙂
I would have used swiss when I made it tonight, but I was using the alfredo for another recipe this week, so I figured it was open, so why not use that? It was DELICIOUS! It would be equally as good with either 🙂 I mean they are both excellent choices
As for the Ham, I just had a leftover hunk in the freezer from the last holiday. I tossed that in frozen. It just defrosted and shredded as it cooked. I think it was probably about a 1/4-1/2 lb chunk. It was good!
