I went to get into the shower this morning
and as soon as I stepped in,
my 3 year old came in
and said
“I want to shower too!”
and just climbs into the shower too
This happens often
and he wants to be clean,
so it is hard to say no
Then my one year old walks in
opens the shower doors
and starts throwing toys in
He once almost threw my phone in
I guess he thought I needed it in the shower
At least I stopped him before it got wet!
Sometimes,
I just wish I could shower alone
or go to the bathroom without an audience.
But I know there will be a day,
when I won’t have kids toys staring at me in the shower
I will get to enjoy the long, hot shower for as long as I want
because no one will be crying for me to get out,
or wanting me to get them some food,
Or fighting with their siblings
But then
I won’t have them out there waiting for me
I can enjoy my shower
but they won’t be there when I get out.
They’ll be off on their own…
So I guess I will give up the alone for now
because one day I will have too much alone
and miss the times where all they wanted was to be with me
and share their toys with me while I try to shower 🙂
