The Holiday’s are the BEST time to save money on eating out. We buy gift cards for most of our meals out for the ENTIRE year, at Christmas. (We know how much we usually eat out, and the average that we spend at each restaurant) We can get Gift Cards for an average of 20% off. You can then use those discounted gift cards with coupons, specials, etc. It is a GREAT way to save some money when eating out! We have a big gift card “box” where we keep all the gift cards we buy – to keep track of them all. Then when we want to eat out, or go on a trip/vacation, we go to our box and see what we have! Then look for coupons/ specials online, and even big families can eat out or save some money while traveling!
Here is a list of local(ish) restaurants offering discounts on gift cards this Holiday Season:
- Red Robin – $5 Bonus Bucks on every $25 in Gift Cards. Choose the Holiday Gift card options to get the bonus bucks and not the free movie ticket! Bonus bucks good from 1/1/2015 – 2/28/2015. If you don’t want to worry about spending the Bonus Bucks, when you purchase $250 or more of gift cards, you will get a straight 20% off all the gift cards!! This is a great deal! Simply chose the gift cards without the $5 bonus bucks or movie ticket (click on “more cards”) attached to it, add $250 or more of gift cards into your cart and you will automatically be given a 20% off discount! If you don’t want to spend $250 in gift cards, consider getting some friends together and pooling your money to get the discount!
- Applebees – $10 bonus card for every $50 in gift cards purchased. Bonus card good until 2/28/2015
- Burgerville – $5 added for every $25 in gift cards purchased. This is one f my FAVORITE ones. You simply get a straight $5 for every $25 bought – no bonus cards, etc. Plus, you can elect to have your $5 added to your card, or a separate card!
- Carino’s – I don’t see this on their website, but I know for a fact you can get it in their store! (I picked them up on Small Business Saturday… not sure why they were a small business :P) $5 bonus card for every $25 spent on Gift Cards. Bonus bucks are good 1/1/2015 – 2/28/2015.
- McGraths Fish House – $5 bonus bucks for every $25 spent. This is one of my favorites, as this is one of our favorite places to eat, plus you have until the END of APRIL to use up all those bonus bucks!
- Old Spagetti Factory – $5 Bonus Certificate for every $25 spent. Bonus Certificate is good until the end of March
- Olive Garden – $10 bonus card for each $50 spent. The card is only good from 1/2/15 – 1/31/15 $10 off purchase of 2 adult entrees. The shortest window to use your bonus, but if you know your heading to Olive Garden in January, makes for a good deal.
- Red Lobster – Similar to the Oliver Garden, but $5 bonus card with a $25 purchase, but the card is only good for a month, like the Olive Garden one (and must purchase 2 adult entrees)… Personally, I much prefer McGrath’s seafood 🙂 (seriously WAY better food there!)
- Claim Jumper – $10 reward card for every $50 gift card purchase. The reward card is good until the END of MAY! The gift cards are good at ANY Landry restaurant!! (including McCormick and Schmicks) So many options available! Great if heading to Disneyland/world and use at Rainforest Cafe. Works great with my Landry Select card and my daughter’s free $25 Birthday reward that comes in January!
- Papa John’s – Free one topping Large pizza with each $25 gift card purchase. Free Pizza is only good until 1/25/15, but pizza is pretty easy for us to get anytime 🙂
- Coldstone Creamery – $5 gift card when you purchase $30 in gift cards.
- Jamba Juice – Free Smoothie or Juice with a $25 gift card purchase
- Pastini Pastaria – $20 gift certificate (good all of 2015) for every $100 in gift cards. In store ONLY
- Papa Murphy’s – I think it may depend on the store (as it is not available online), but you can usually get Free cookie dough with a $20 gift card purchase. Check with your local store to see what they are offering (if anything)
- McDonald’s – This varies by location. Some locations will offer a freebie with purchase of a gift card. It all depends on your local store.
- Izzy’s Pizza – only available in store (not online) – $10 bonus card for every $50 in gift cards purchased.
- Buffalo Wild Wings – in store only, Blazin Bucks for every $25 in gift cards. Worth at least $5 up to $100 (they are a surprise!)
- Carls Jr – Free 1/3lb Burger for every $20 in gift cards purchased
- Del Taco – Free Combo Meal with each $30 gift card purchase
- Taco Time – $5 bonus egift for every $30 in gift cards bought online
- Cheesecake Factory – Free Cheesecake for every $25 in gift cards
- Famous Dave’s – $5 reward card for every $25 in gift cards
- Outback Steakhouse – $20 bonus card for every $100 in gift cards (bonus card only good until Feb. 10th)
- Benihana – $10 bonus card for every $50 in gift cards. Bonus Card can be used until the end of March
- Ruby Tuesday – $5 bonus buck for every $25 or $15 bonus bucks for every $50 purchase. Bonus bucks good from 1/2/2015 – 2/28/2015. If you have an American Express card, you can sign up for a $10 credit for spending $30 IN STORE at Ruby Tuesday (I did it via Twitter). I simply went in, bought a $30 gift card, got a $5 bonus bucks with my gift card and a $10 credit from American Express on my statement!
