I’d seen various Crockpot Hawaiian Chicken recipes on Pinterest for a while now. I decided to try it out, since my son talks about our trip to Hawaii at least daily… He loved it there.
Now I totally forgot to take a picture before I started eating – Oops! Also, when making the dish, I opened a can of pineapple, and then realized I opened crushed instead of chunks of pineapple. Oh well, same thing right? Just smaller pieces of pineapple. That is why you don’t see any chunks of pineapple in the pictures.
This meal was good. I don’t think I would say it was outstanding. I think I prefer meals with a little more complex taste. If you like simple tastes, then it is a fantastic meal. Plus it is easy to toss together, only a few ingredients, and tasty! So not a failure, but not something I am going to crave either.
Ingredients:
- 1-2lbs of chicken (chunks or whole breasts)
- 1 can of pineapple – chunks if you want chunks of pineapple or if you accidentally open crushed like me, it still tastes good! Include the juice in the can! (don’t drain!)
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tbsp ginger
Directions:
Put all the ingredients in the crockpot. Cook on low 4-6 hours, or low 8-10 hours. If you used chunked up chicken, it’s ready to serve. If you put in breasts, you can eat the whole breasts, or shred it up like me so the chicken absorbs the juices!
