We’ve established I have an obsession with Amazon. Well, we also LOVE Amazon’s Audible program. My son almost always has some headphones in his ears listening to a book (he will listen to them OVER and OVER). I also enjoy the Whispersync with my kindle. It is nice to listen to a book while I cook, clean, etc. I keep a Wishlist on the site, and watch for the books we want to go on sale (they’ll even send you an email when they go on sale!). Often, when you buy a kindle book, they will let you have the audible book for like $3 or less (depending on how new/old the book is!)
Right now, there is a 50% off EVERYTHING on their website sale going on! Plus, my Chase Freedom card is offering my 10% cash back for buying on Audible… Oh.MY! SWEET deals!!! I just loaded up on some series for my son to plow through over Christmas.
If you are not a member of Audible – Try Audible and Get Two Free Audiobooks. You sign up, get 2 free books, and then can take advantage of the sale, which runs through the 16th. After 30 days, you can cancel, and keep the FREE books (and the ones you bought – of course!). When you go to cancel, you can tell them why – I often use the “it’s too much” excuse (they have several options), and then they offer me ANOTHER awesome deal (usually 50% off or more) to stay another few months 😉
I have done that a few times over the years. I actually wasn’t a member for a few months, and then they sent me an email wanting me to come back for only $.99 a month for 3 months (And I get a free book each month too!), which happened to time PERFECTLY with the 10% cash back with my Chase Freedom, and the release of the Harry Potter books!!! When my $.99 per month is up, I’ll probably go to cancel and use the retention offer to stay a few months after that 😉
Since my Chase Freedom was offering me 10% back, I bought a 12-month membership, and since I was already a member, they just gave me 12 credits. That works out to about $12.50 per credit (or $11.25 after my 10% cash back) and used that to buy all the Harry Potter books… So I picked up the Harry Potter Series for only $78.75 – pretty sweet considering the CD’s are well over $200 for the series. We LOVE listening to them on LONG car trips. I always reserve my credits for the more expensive ($15 or more books). Now if they would just get the new Janitor’s book in… (that is the one my son is waiting for!)
Watch the daily sales. Watch for random sales and you can get a ton of audible books for cheap! LOVE them for my kids! Try Audible and Get Two Free Audiobooks – there is no risk and it is super easy to cancel!
