Kings Land Waikoloa Resort

After staying on the Hilo side of the island, we headed to where we were going to spend an entire week: Kings Land Waikoloa Resort.

This resort was AMAZING. My son even said he liked it more than Aulani (this is saying ALOT since he always says Aulani was his favorite trip EVER). Not only do you get to use all the AMAZING pools and amenities at Kings Land, but you also get FREE use of the AMAZING facilities and pools at the Hilton Waikoloa! Even free parking. It is a fantastic place to stay.

We had a 2 bedroom Condo. It was large and very nice. We were quite comfortable there for a week. The Master Bedroom had a king size bed, television, closet, dresser, and a GIANT Bathroom. The Tub was HUGE and the toilet and shower areas were enormous. There was a double sink vanity as well.

The second bedroom had 2 Queen (maybe double?) Beds in it. Our two older kids took this room and enjoyed their own big beds. It also had a television in it. The bathroom on this side of the Condo was smaller but was still a decent size.

The kitchen was a decent size for a Condo – about what you’d expect from a Condo. The appliances were nice and upgraded. There was a large table in the kitchen as well.

The living room area had Sofa Sleeper couch, chair, and television. The little boys took the sofa sleeper. The door to the nice patio was off the living room. I apparently did not take any pictures of this room. There was also a washer and dryer and a hall closet.

The resort had many amenities. Classes and lessons were offered for free – like hula lessons or making Lei’s, etc. There were several activities each day you could participate in or sign up for. We did not take advantage of any of these. Our kids were more interested in swimming and the beach. Kind of a shame we didn’t take advantage, but we had so much fun doing other things, I don’t think they missed out!

They also offered FREE Shaved ice neat the pool twice a week. The kids were interested in that! It was a fun perk for them to get their own shaved ice and pick their flavors.

The pools were AMAZING. At least when we were there, they were hardly even busy. That or they were so large, you simply didn’t notice the other people in the pool. They were VERY large pools!

You will need to get wristbands and towels at the activities desk to swim in the pools. My son collected all his bands (from the Hilton Waikoloa too). You show the paper you are given at check in to get your wristbands each day.

There were 4 waterslides. 2 longer slides and 2 shorter slides. My toddler LOVED the one in the kid’s area. He went down it more times than I can count.

The main pool area has basically 4 large pools. The Main pool was gigantic and had several waterfalls! Then there was a “Sports Pool” with Basketball and a volleyball net. There was a kid’s area, that was shallow, had a splash pad, and a waterslide. It was a “sandy” bottom pool, but it was more like ROCKS. It would hurt our feet. It didn’t bother the little ones, but man, it hurt us adults! We wore water shoes on our visits there. Our toddler LOVED playing in the “sand” though – and the resort offers LOTS of toys for them to play with in the area. There was also an adult only pool, that we didn’t visit. There were at least 2 hot tubs – maybe more (there was probably one in the adult area we didn’t go to)

Kid’s Pool/sand bottom/shallow pool

There were also other pools in the resort. One was right behind our building. We were right between this pool and the main pool area (the main pool area was about a 3-minute walk from our room). This pool was actually pretty good size, had a waterfall, and a hot tub. It was NEVER busy. I don’t think we ever really saw anyone in the pool. I believe there was another small pool area, but it was across the street and we never went to it, since we had so many pools so close to our room. There are BBQ’s all over the resort (I believe each building had its own set of BBQ’s) that you can use. This pool area also had it’s own BBQ area for your use.

These are pictures from our porch. You can see these use goats on the golf course. The goats would also wonder closer to the rooms. (you can see the pool near our room in the one picture of the goat)

One night a week, they have an AMAZING hula show – VERY similar to what you would see at a Luau. Best part, It’s FREE!! You can save a ton of money and just see the free hula show at the resort. It was really fun and a great show – complete with fire dancers.

We absolutely LOVED our time at Kings Land. We sure hope we can go back again one day! The fact that it rivals, if not BETTER, than our stay at Aulani, that is saying ALOT! With all the fantastic amenities, along with those at the Hilton Waikoloa, you will NEVER want to leave! I don’t think I can recommend this place enough – we simply LOVED IT! WONDERFUL stay (*sigh* can I go back now?!?!) (Note to future self: Ask for a room in Building 4, 5, or 6 – they are closets to the pools. We were in building 4 and it was PERFECT!)

The pictures are amazing. I can guess you did not want to ever leave. You had me at the huge bath and washer & dryer then the pools and waterfalls looked so fun.
