I’m super behind in blogging our trips, so hopefully, I can catch up!
The main reason for our trip to San Francisco was to take the kids to the Oakland Temple Open House. We were super excited to visit. My parents were married here almost 40 years ago! It was great to be able to bring my children there to visit and see inside the temple.
This was a VERY well run Open House. There was plenty of parking – maybe because when you signed up, they gave you lots of warning about the lack of parking, but there was plenty when we were there!
They took you in and very orderly put you into groups. It was fantastic. When we went to the Meridian Temple open house, it was not nearly as organized and much more chaotic! This was calm and organized.
Going through the temple was quiet and peaceful. I don’t know if there were just a lot fewer people than the Meridian Open House, but it was more peaceful, felt like less people, and we could enjoy the entire tour. Ir was an incredibly enjoyable tour! We loved our time there! Such a good experience.
It was well worth our time to travel to this open house. If you haven’t been here before, the view is SPECTACULAR! It is on a hill and you can get a beautiful view of San Francisco – when it’s not too foggy that is! It wasn’t on this visit – yay!
You can go and see the view anytime! There is also a beautiful visitor’s center for you to explore as well. The Visitor’s Center also has a fantastic view of the city and the temple!
