My kids were home from school
due to 15 inches of snow
(we rarely get snow here!)
So we made some Valentine’s Cookies
Mmm…
These cookies were GOOD!
This recipe made ALOT of cookies
(we used varying sizes of cookie cutters)
but they were all eaten in record time!
Yep-
This is going to be a popular cookie recipe for our family
from now on!
I am wishing we had some left right about now…
Mmmmm….
Ingredients:
- 6 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups Sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cup sour cream
- A batch of my HomeMade buttercream frosting
Directions:
Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add in the eggs, one at a time, until incorporated. Add in the sour cream. Add in the baking soda, baking powder, and slowly add in the flour – a cup at a time. Divide the dough into 2 sections, wrap in plastic wrap and chill at least 2-4 hours.
Heat oven to 425. Roll the dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thick. Cut out using your desired shape/cutter and place on a well greased cookie sheet. Bake 7 minutes, until very lightly browned on the sides. Cool on a cookie rack. Once cool, cover in the fluffy butter cream frosting.
Enjoy. Try not to eat the whole batch at once 😉
