Before Thanksgiving, I got a craving for some good sugar cookies. I pretty much always try and indulge in such cravings (expecially when pregnant). I looked on Pinterest for some Lofthouse style cookies, because that was the type that I was craving. All the recipes seemed about the same, and they all seemed familiar to me. Then I realized that I had already made these cookies. The recipe is here. So I just ended up making them and they were as good as I remembered!
It was fun because my 2-year-old really got into cutting out the cookies. We even broke out the alphabet cookie cutters and made cookies with every letter of the alphabet. He LOVES the alphabet right now. He knows all his letters and words that go with each letter. We talked about each letter as we cut them out and he told me words for that letter. For a child that has speech issues, it was a fun way to get conversing with him.
We frosted them with my butter cream frosting and put sprinkles on some of them – my kids like sprinkles, me not so much! When the big kids all got home from school, the cookies didn’t last too long! But they were delicious. Almost makes me want to go make some more…
Here is the recipe once more – Yum! Enjoy!
