I am finally getting around to posting this! Here is the Minecraft Creeper Cake we made for my son’s 9th Birthday! It was the hit of the party and all the kids wanted a piece of creeper cake!
The body is simply a 13×9 sheet cake
the head is a 13×9 sheet cake, cut in half and stacked (with frosting in between the layers, of course!)
The feet are 2 cakes that were baked in loaf pans! We then cut those small cakes in half, and layered them, like the head.
It took 2.5 cake mixes. We used the half a cake mix left over, to make a few cupcakes. The head and body were both 1 cake mix each, and each loaf pan had a little more than 1/4 of a cake mix. The body was made with Confetti cake, so it would look like he exploded when they cut into him!
Once we had all the cakes assembled, we simply just made green buttercream frosting, using my delicious Buttercream frosting recipe with a bunch of green food coloring!
My husband then made a square stencil with some scrap paper lying around, and used green sprinkles we had from Christmas, to make the creeper look more pixelated. Really easy to do!
To finish it off, we took a Hershey bar and make the feet and face. The block shape of the Hershey bar made it perfect for this purpose, not to mention delicious!
REALLY easy to make and the kids went crazy for the cake! I like cakes that look great, but take no special ingredients, equipment, or skills to make!
