Unless you’ve been living under a rock, or aren’t on Pinterest, you’ve seen these Ham and Swiss Sliders. I have been wanting to make them for awhile because they looked delicious.
I was not disappointed – they are DELICIOUS! And really easy to make. There are sooo many different recipes on Pinterest, I decided to go with the one the King’s Hawaiian website. I did change it, to have less mustard and more Worcestershire sauce – since I am NOT a fan of mustard.
Next time, here is what I would change. I don’t think the mayo is needed. I put a very small amount on the sandwiches. I don’t think it is really needed. So leave it off if you don’t like mayo. I would assemble the sandwiches the same, but then I would slice them, in the pan, before I pour the sauce over them. Then the sauce will be better able to get around each sandwich, and not just the tops and edges.
I now see why they are so popular on Pinterest – they are GOOD!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 – 1lbs of your favorite ham (I used black forest, but honey, virgina, etc. will work great) How much depends on how much ham you like in your sandwiches.
- 6-8oz of sliced or shredded Swiss cheese
- Mayo (optional)
- Poppy Seeds (optional)
- 2 tsp mustard
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 Tbsp dried diced onions (or powdered onions)
- 1 Tbsp Worchestershire sauce
- 24 pack King’s Hawaiian dinner rolls (I found a 24 pack… or get 2 12 packs)

- 24 pack King's Hawaiian dinner rolls (I found a 24 pack... or get 2 12 packs)
Instructions
- I took the entire 24 pack and cut it in half.
- Put the bottom half in a 13x9 pan and spread mayo on the top half (optional in my opinion) and set it aside.
- Pile the ham on the bottom half of the rolls - I did 3 slices thick, you can do more or less.
- Top with the swiss cheese.
- Place the tops of the rolls on top. Next time, I plan to then cut apart each sandwich now, instead of just before eating.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter.
- Then add the onion, Worcestershire sauce, Poppy seeds (optional) and mustard.
- Whisk until combined.
- Pour the sauce evenly over the sandwiches.
- Cover with foil and let sit 10 minutes, or place in the fridge overnight.
- Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted.
- Take the foil off and cook 5 minutes longer, for the tops to slightly brown and crisp.
- Serve warm and ENJOY!
