St. George

St. George was only meant to be a pit stop on our trip. A convenient town with a hotel. I have heard of so many people at church going to St. George, but I never understood why you’d want to go there (just thought it was a “mormon” thing – like going to Utah. No offense to Utah, but never found the Salt Lake/Northern Utah area that interesting). Now I do! I wish we had actually planned some time to explore the town more! If I HAD to live in Utah (oh please, NO, NO!), this is the place I’d choose.

We went to Thunder Juncton All Abilities Park and my kids fell in LOVE. We probably could have spent our entire vacation right there and they would have been happy. We rode the train and played on all the equipment. They loved it so much, we went back after dinner and our date to the temple. It is open very late, and no one is around late, so we had the entire place to ourselves in the evening. Seriously, we loved this place, and I would love to go back again sometime. It is AMAZING! I don’t think I can say enough good things about this park!

We also visited the temple and the visitor’s center. We didn’t have time to get to the other sites, but I’d love to someday. We did go on a date to the temple later in the evening while the kids hung out at the hotel. So we got to see it before the renovation later this year.

I know we only scratched the surface of this town! We have a timeshare in the area, and I think we are going to have to book some time to come back and explore some more! Who knew we’d enjoy St. George so much?!?
