Sometimes unplanned stops can be the best of the trip!
We hadn’t been planning to stop long at Humboldt State Park. We planned to just drive through as we were driving The Avenue of the Giants on our way to the Redwoods. However, a carsick toddler and a grumpy baby lead to us stopping and exploring. We actually enjoyed Humboldt more than the official Redwoods park!
We happened upon The Founders Grove Trail. This is a MUST DO when visiting Humboldt State Park. This trail was our favorite trail of the entire trip! Glad we made the big kids get out of the car to see and explore the trail. It is great for people of all abilities and lots to see on the trail. There are signs and new things to learn along the way.
Sometimes you just need to embrace those unexpected detours! Sometimes they lead to the best paths!
