If you make it all the way to the Maryhill Museum, make sure you stop at the Maryhill Stonehenge! It is a few miles down the road.
This Stonehenge was dedicated on July 4th, 1918 as a memorial to the people who had died in World War I. The altar stone is placed to be aligned with sunrise on the summer solstice.
It also offers fantastic views of the Columbia River Gorge. It doesn’t take too long to walk around and admire the memorial and it is a fun stop to tell people you’ve been to Stonehenge (The PNW edition!)
