The main reason for this portion of our trip was to see my parents who had flown from DC to go to a family reunion in Idaho. We met them in the gorge as a halfway mark.
The Maryhill Museum is a gem in the middle of nowhere. It was about 15-20 minutes from The Dalles, on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge. They offer Family Admissions, so we were able to get all 8 of us in for only $30. I love family admission!!
You can view the outdoor sculpture gardens for FREE and enjoy the view overlooking the Columbia River Gorge, as the museum is set up on a bluff.
The museum has a very eclectic collection of items. Items from Queen Marie of Romania, Art from the Pacific Northwest, and some very famous Rodin sculptures!
The kids had a great time exploring the museum for an hour or so. It is well worth a stop if you are in the area! Beautiful grounds and beautiful museum that is affordable for families!
