The Grotto Christmas Festival of Lights

We were hosted at The Grotto Christmas Festival of Lights this weekend. We hadn’t been and I have heard about so many people visiting, I figured it was time for us to visit!

You enter and follow a pathway telling you about the Nativity story – there are signs and some audio telling the story to you as you walk through the lights.

You then enter the entertainment area. You can see a puppet show, carolers, a petting zoo, or purchase some food. The big chapel is also here where you can catch a concert from many different groups per night. According to their website, this is the largest Christmas Choral in the world. Our kids were not into sitting through a concert, so we didn’t try to go in – that and the chapel was packed full.

There is also another pathway with lights that eventually leads to the exit and gift shop. If just going for the lights, it probably won’t take you long to get through it all. If you want to go to a concert, check out the schedule beforehand and pick one that interests you.

If you are a family – like us – I Strongly suggest you look at the prices before going. We were given the tickets by the event, but had we not been given the tickets, I personally would have felt this was overpriced for OUR family – since our kids were not interested in the concerts. They just wanted to look at lights. For a couple, or families with older children, use your own judgment when looking at prices and if you are interested in the concerts being put on the evening you plan to go.

Disclosure: The Grotto provided us with Tickets for this event.
