Mom Hack

This weekend, my son had a bunch of teenage boys over for a game night. We got pizza and soda for them. Man! They made it through A LOT of pizza!!

I decided that I would make them some cookies after pizza. It was a spur of the moment choice, but thanks to this mom hack, I always have homemade cookies ready to be baked!

When I make cookies, I always double or triple the batch. I then only bake as many as we want for that day and the next and then freeze the rest. I take my trusty cookie scoop, scoop the dough onto a cookie sheet (the scoops can be right next to each other), and then put into the freezer until frozen. Then place all the scoops of dough into a freezer bag and freeze until ready to bake. When ready to bake, simply take out as many scoops of dough as you are wanting to bake! Voila! You have homemade, fresh baked cookies whenever you need/want them. You can also just go grab a scoop of dough and eat it when the desire for a little treat arises 🙂 Not that I would ever do that *shifty eyes*

Add one – two minutes onto the baking time of your cookie. Use a sharpie to write on the freezer bag how long to bake and at what temperature.

It is great to just keep a bag of your favorite cookie dough in the freezer to make up at any time. Like when your kids say they need to take a treat to the activity they are going to 10 minutes before you need to leave. Not that that has ever happened to me (ha!)… or just want a dozen cookies after dinner. So instead of having 4 dozen fresh baked cookies in one day, you can spread it out and have a dozen fresh baked cookies over several days!
