Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Brownies – 2 of my favorite things! I have combined them in many different ways and now I have a handheld way to eat them together!
I made them with 2 different brownie cookies – I wanted to see which was better. The recipe for the one with powdered sugar is here. The other is listed below.
The verdict: The powdered sugar ones are best on their own. They are SOOO good on their own and actually taste more brownie like – but they remain rounded and don’t work as well in a sandwich. I mean, I liked them both, but sandwich-wise, I think the one I have listed below works best for the sandwiches.
These are also magical cookies – We made them and delivered them to a friend who was due to have her baby soon. I wrote a note with the cookies that said maybe they would entice the baby to come out. Guess what?!?! She totally had her baby about 12 hours after we delivered the cookies to her! I was so shocked! Ha! Now I am going to make these for any of my friends toward the end of their pregnancy. Apparently, they are labor inducing! HA! Why did I not try this when I was pregnant?!?!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter – softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 3/4 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 recipe of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Frosting
Directions:
Heat oven to 350
Cream together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the vanilla and egg and mix well. Gradually stir in the cocoa, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and flour. Combine well. I use a cookie scoop to get a uniformly sized cookie. Bake 8-10 minutes until the cookies are puffy and the tops are cracked, but they are still soft. Allow to cool on the cookie sheet 5 minutes and then place on a cooling rack to cool completely. Place chocolate chip cookie dough frosting in a Ziploc bag and snip the corner (you may also just use a knife). Then pipe the frosting onto the flat side of one cookie and place another cookie on top, creating a sandwich.
Enjoy! and possibly induce labor 😉 ha!
